On February 14, 2018, 14 students and three teachers were murdered at the school
To replace those who were suspended from the board, the governor selected four new members

Students are still attending classes in mouldy, dilapidated, hazardous buildings that were supposed to have been rebuilt years ago
These are undesirable behaviours from school board members who have a history of encouraging inappropriate conduct
The Florida Supreme Court established the 20th Statewide Grand Jury in February 2019
The gunman pleaded guilty, and the punishment part of his trial has begun
The grand jury was given the following instructions: "probe four subjects, including whether public organisations and school workers committed fraud."
